Why choose PEP Training?

Nothing beats hands-on training

Real fires. Real extinguishers. Real preparedness.

In a controlled environment with notification to local fire brigade, our fire and emergency warden training courses will provide your staff the first-hand experience they need to manage any emergency and protect life.

Tailor-made courses delivered on-site

No two sites, no two organisations are the same.

And neither should be emergency planning and training courses. PEP Training will conduct a full risk assessment of your site before tailoring courses, plans, drills and manuals to fit your site and organisation’s needs.

Over 20 years experience

With over 20 years experience in Australian fire protection across health care, commercial, light and heavy industries, you’re in safe hands with PEP Training.

Compliance with national standards

Our Training Manager has been a representative on the national TAC/17 Technical Advisory Committee who report to Australian Standard 3745 (Emergencies in Facilities) and AS4083 (Emergencies in Healthcare). This industry experience translates to a thorough insight into emergency planning regulations and standards across Australia.

Specialist in healthcare emergency planning and training

With ten years experience delivering Fire Safety Officer training to nursing homes, clinics, public and private hospitals, we understand the unique set of challenges and needs that come with emergencies in healthcare settings.

Communications equipment experience for your team

During any emergency, your staff will need to know how to operate communications equipment efficiently and effectively.

We provide a comprehensive explanation and demonstration of the operation of your communications equipment (fire panel, EWIS panel, radios, warden intercom phones (WIP), PA and telephones).

Founder and Training Manager Bernie Pilgrim has a Diploma in Work Health and Safety (Distinction) and a Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessing (now TAE40110). Bernie is also Senior First Aid qualified and is a registered Justice of the Peace.

Bernie trained as a first response fire fighter for New South Wales government power industry construction sites before becoming a construction electrical inspector at various sites across the state.  In this role he conducted commissioning of fire detection installations before joining the private sector fire industry 16 years ago.

PEPTraining has three accredited Fire Safety Managers. This enables us to train Fire Safety Officers in the six levels of competency required for state accreditation.
